Most Nigerians who want to watch the Super Eagles, the NPFL or the Premier League online end up on a dodgy streaming link that freezes at the crucial moment, floods the screen with betting adverts or asks for card details. There is a better way, and it is often cheaper than people think. This guide explains the legal ways to watch Nigerian football in November 2026: the Super Eagles, the domestic league (NPFL), European leagues and highlights, which apps and channels carry them, what the new DStv packages mean for football fans, how to save data, and how to avoid illegal streams.

- Super Eagles: the September 2026 AFCON qualifiers were shown live on SuperSport channels on DStv and GOtv, according to ThisDay. The November broadcaster had not been confirmed in the sources we checked, so look at the SuperSport schedule before kick-off.
- NPFL: the league’s official streaming service is NPFL Live (website and app), with some matches also on TV (see below).

Super Eagles: how to watch the AFCON 2027 qualifiers
Nigeria are in Group L of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar and Tanzania. Our Super Eagles TV guide and the qualifiers table carry the latest standings. The next two matches, as reported by Naija Sabi, are:
- Wednesday 11 November 2026: Nigeria v Tanzania, 6pm Nigerian time, reported venue Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
- Sunday 15 November 2026: Tanzania v Nigeria, 6pm Nigerian time, reported venue Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam.
The venues are the expected ones rather than an official announcement, so confirm with the NFF and CAF. For the September matches, ThisDay reported that both Nigeria v Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau v Nigeria were shown on SS La Liga (DStv channel 204) and SS Pop-up (GOtv channel 59), and that access was limited to certain DStv and GOtv packages. Legit.ng also said the Guinea-Bissau match could be watched through SuperSport’s digital platforms. The sources we found did not name a broadcaster for the Tanzania games, so treat the same SuperSport channels as the most likely option and confirm on the day.

What the new DStv packages mean for football fans
According to Legit.ng, DStv introduced four new packages in Nigeria from 5 November 2026. New customers go onto them immediately, and existing subscribers will be moved automatically in phases.

If the La Liga channel is now in Starter, that could be the cheapest way to reach the channel that carried the September Super Eagles matches, but this is our inference from two reports and the Tanzania broadcaster is not yet confirmed. Check your package in the MyDStv app before paying. We have not seen new GOtv prices, and our Premier League guide still lists the pre-November DStv line-up, so confirm current prices on the DStv website.
NPFL: how to watch Nigeria’s domestic league
The NPFL Live service (npfl-live.com, run with Propel Sports Africa) says on its FAQ page that its app is free to download, with a subscription needed for most live matches, and that up to eight of ten matches in a round are available exclusively on the app. You can watch on Android, through the website, and on smart TVs by signing in to the streaming platform. The page does not state the subscription price, so check inside the app. One match-preview site listed NTA Sports 24, StarTimes, StarSat and FreeTV channels plus the league’s YouTube channel for a recent fixture, but we could not confirm that against an official fixture list, so check the league’s own announcements. European leagues and Nigerians abroad
The Premier League, Champions League and other European competitions are on SuperSport in Nigeria. Our Premier League guide explains the options, including SportyTV, which shows a limited number of matches free. If you live abroad, rights differ by country. In the UK, for example, Premier League matches are sold to local broadcasters, and CAF qualifiers are often sold separately by region. Use the match page on the CAF website or a fixture-listing site to see which licensed broadcaster has your game, and use only that broadcaster’s app. Do not try to get around geographic restrictions with unofficial streams.
Free and cheap legal ways to follow the games
- Radio commentary: free and light on data.
- Official highlights: the NFF, CAF, clubs and leagues post clips on YouTube and social media after games.
- SportyTV: free packages with a limited number of matches, per our Premier League guide.
- Licensed viewing centres: if a viewing centre shows a match, it should have a licence from the broadcaster. Ask before you pay.
- Live text updates: reliable sports sites, the NFF and CAF feeds.
How much data does streaming use?
Data use depends on the app and quality setting. As a rough guide, standard-quality video uses around 0.5 to 1 GB an hour and HD can use 2 GB or more. A 90-minute match can therefore be a large chunk of a small data bundle. Lower the quality setting, connect to Wi-Fi where you can and close other apps. These numbers are estimates; check inside your app.
Why you should avoid pirate streams
Pirate streaming sites and apps use content they do not have the right to show, which is illegal and takes money from the sports you love. They are also unreliable and risky. Many are filled with pop-ups, fake download buttons and betting adverts, and some try to install malware or steal bank details. Warning signs include:
- The page asks for card details or an OTP to “unlock” a free stream.
- You are told to install an app from a link rather than an official store.
- A WhatsApp or Telegram stranger offers a “VIP link”.
- The stream cuts and redirects to betting or adult pages.
