Airtel Data Plans in Nigeria 2026: Prices, Codes and Best Value

Last updated: 16 October 2026 · By Naijatipsland Editorial Team · Editorial policy

Airtel data plans look simple until you compare them. A bigger bundle often costs far less per gigabyte, and some mid-sized plans are better value than the plan just above them. This guide lists Airtel Nigeria’s main plans and prices for 2026, shows the cost per GB, and explains which plan to pick for how you actually use data.

Prices below come from two 2026 plan roundups that matched each other, and from reporting on Airtel’s February 2025 price restructure. Airtel can change prices at any time, so dial *312# or open the My Airtel app to confirm the current price before you pay.

The short answer

  • Airtel’s monthly plans run from N1,500 for 2GB to N40,000 for 210GB, all valid for 30 days.
  • The cheapest per GB in the mid range is the N3,000 for 8GB plan (about N375/GB), which beats the N4,000 for 10GB plan (N400/GB).
  • Heavy users get the best rate on the 100GB at N20,000 plan (about N200/GB) or larger.
  • Buy data with *312#, check your balance with *323#. Avoid pay-as-you-go (*400#), which costs about N4.60 per MB.

  • N3,000: 8GB
  • N4,000: 10GB
  • N5,000: 13GB
  • N6,000: 18GB
  • N8,000: 25GB
  • N10,000: 35GB
  • N15,000: 60GB
  • N20,000: 100GB

Which monthly plan is best value?

Airtel cost per GB by monthly plan

Dividing price by data gives these approximate costs per GB, before any bonus data:

  • 2GB at N1,500: N750 per GB
  • 3GB at N2,000: N667 per GB
  • 4GB at N2,500: N625 per GB
  • 8GB at N3,000: N375 per GB
  • 10GB at N4,000: N400 per GB
  • 13GB at N5,000: N385 per GB
  • 18GB at N6,000: N333 per GB
  • 25GB at N8,000: N320 per GB
  • 35GB at N10,000: N286 per GB
  • 60GB at N15,000: N250 per GB
  • 100GB at N20,000: N200 per GB
  • 160GB at N30,000: N188 per GB
  • 210GB at N40,000: N190 per GB

Three things stand out. The N3,000 plan with 8GB is a clear step up from the 2GB to 4GB plans. The N4,000 plan with 10GB is slightly worse value than the N3,000 plan with 8GB, so only pay the extra if you need the data. And the best rate sits at 100GB to 160GB, but only if you will use it, because unused data does not help you.

Other Airtel plan types

Airtel data plan types in Nigeria
  • Daily and night plans: N50 to N350 for 75MB to 500MB, for one or two days.
  • Weekly plans: N500 to N5,000 for 500MB to 20GB, valid seven days. A weekly plan only saves money if you use the data within the week.
  • Everyday-ON plans: N4,000 to N7,500 for 15GB to 40GB over 30 days, with daily caps. The 40GB plan at N7,500 works out to about N188 per GB but is capped at about 1.33GB a day.
  • Social and Binge bundles: short validity plans (N100 to N500 social, N500 to N1,500 binge) for specific apps and video.
  • Long-term plans: N50,000 to N100,000 for 300GB to 685GB over 90 to 365 days. The one-year 685GB plan at N100,000 is about N146 per GB.

Bonus YouTube Night data can only be used on YouTube between 12am and 5am. Read the terms of any bonus before counting it as value.

Why prices changed in 2025

Airtel restructured its plans in February 2025, a week after MTN, following the NCC’s approval of a tariff increase of up to 50% on 20 January 2025. For example, what used to be 3GB for N1,500 became 4GB for N2,500, and the old 10GB for N3,000 became 8GB for N3,000. Airtel also moved to a flat 25 kobo per second for calls, about N15 a minute. Airtel said the extra income would fund network improvements, while critics argued it strains consumers. Old plan lists you find online may use the pre-2025 prices.

Which plan should you pick?

  • Light use (WhatsApp, browsing): the N1,500 to N2,000 monthly plan, or a weekly plan if your use is irregular.
  • Medium use (some video and social media): N3,000 for 8GB.
  • Heavy use (video, work from home): N10,000 for 35GB or N15,000 for 60GB.
  • Households sharing a hotspot: N20,000 for 100GB or a larger plan.
  • Mostly YouTube at night: check the night and Everyday-ON plans.

How to save data and money

  1. Turn off background data and auto-updates on mobile data, and update apps over Wi-Fi.
  2. Set a data limit warning in your phone settings.
  3. Renew in the same category before expiry. Unused main data rolls over only if you renew in the same category before the plan ends or within the grace period (1 day for daily, 3 days for weekly, 7 days for monthly plans).
  4. Auto-renewal is opt-in, and Airtel sends an SMS before renewing. Turn it off if you want control.
  5. Check your balance with *323# often.
  6. Compare against other networks before deciding, including Glo data plans. See our guide to the fastest network in Nigeria for speed data.

Bottom line

Work out how much data you use in a month and buy the plan that covers it without paying for gigabytes you will not use. For most people that means N3,000 for 8GB or one of the 35GB to 100GB plans. Always confirm the price in *312# or the My Airtel app first.
