While excavating a Hellenistic shaft tomb near Jerusalem, constructed in the 4th or 3rd century B.C. after Alexander the Great ‘s conquest, researchers uncovered a bronze folding box mirror (pictured) and the remains of a young woman who was likely a hetaera-an influential Greek woman who served as a social escort.
