A 22-year-old Nigerian e-hailing driver has been br¥tally killed in Pretoria, sparking fresh outrage and renewed concerns over the safety of foreign nationals in South Africa .

The tragic incident was first reported by a South African crime-monitoring platform, which disclosed on X that the victim, identified as Isaac Satlat, was murdered during a v+olent hijacking.

According to the platform, a dashboard camera captured the fatal att+ck on the young driver, who worked with the ride-hailing service . CrimeInSA stated that Satlat was hijacked and str@ng,ed before his bod¥ and vehicle were dumped several kilometres away in Moshongo, Attridgeville, just outside Pretoria.

The k+lling has sparked widespread anger among Nigerians on social media, many describing it as yet another tragic example of the risks faced by migrants working in South Africa’s gig economy, particularly e-hailing drivers who often operate at night and in high-risk areas.

Beyond his work as a driver, Satlat was reportedly a student preparing to graduate next month, with plans already underway to relocate to Canada to further his education. His d+ath has deepened the sense of loss within the Nigerian community at home and abroad.
