Public Enlightenment Movement (PEM), a Nigerian pan-political group, says President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to infrastructure development, housing delivery and improved mobility will spur economic growth and foster national integration.
Its Coordinator, Nuhu Abdullahi, said this while appraising phase 5 and phase 6 of the project, on Saturday in Kano.
He said the programme aims to present factual updates on selected development efforts being implemented in northern Nigeria under Tinubu’s stewardship, in the interest of public awareness and transparency.
The coordinator said phases 5 and 6 of the project highlighted key road infrastructure projects being executed along the Babura corridor in Katsina and Dawanau axis in Kano State.
According to Abdullahi, the projects improve traffic flow, strengthen commercial activities and support agricultural distribution in major economic areas.
“Further interventions include road improvements around Funtua in Katsina State, enhancing access for farming communities.
“There is also noticeable progress along the Kano – Hadeja route, where improved road conditions are reducing travel time and enhancing commuter safety,” he said.

He said the phases also featured interventions in the health sector, particularly developments at the Federal Medical Centre, Misau, through the conversion of the General Hospital, Misau.
The development, he said, strengthened access to quality healthcare services, improved medical capacity and expanded tertiary healthcare delivery for surrounding communities.
Abdullahi further listed strategic road projects such as the Ajaokuta–Okene and Akwanga corridors, noting that they continued to strengthen interstate connectivity as well as support economic and social activities in the region.

Abdullahi, however, said the projects highlighted in the phases represented only a few of many ongoing Federal Government’s interventions nationwide.
He said the programme focused on selected projects to enhance public enlightenment and promote transparency.
The coordinator said the phases underscored the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, housing delivery and improved mobility as key drivers of economic growth and national integration.
