“Head and shoulders above” – The “phenomenal” Chelsea legend they need now

John Terry is not just a Chelsea legend because he’s from the academy and won it all – he genuinely is one of the best ever.

Things are pretty bleak at Chelsea at the moment, so we’re trying to stay positive.

That often means looking back at the past – and there’s not much better to look back on than John Terry. Former QPR striker Charlie Austin came up against him a few times, and in an interview with Squakwa he named the Chelsea legend as the hardest opponent he’s had.

Terry simply better than the competition says Austin

“John Terry was just head and shoulders above when I played him,” Austin said.

“He was quicker, he was stronger. He was very good in the air but he was very good with the ball at his feet, too. Yes, I scored against Chelsea but to play against Terry was a phenomenal challenge!”

What we would do to have a player like Terry back now. A centre back of his quality would instantly improve this team more than perhaps any other position. And his immense leadership would improve the whole squad.

Sadly, players like JT don’t grow on trees. And you can’t just buy them in the transfer market.

In other news…

Chelsea’s season was “screwed up” by their ownership says one podcast on the subject.

Mick Brown thinks that the “toxic” situation is down to the players, who can’t be “trusted.”
