Cross River 2027: Nkoyo Toyo, Magam Ntui Make INEC Final List As ADC Candidates

The duo were listed in INEC’s final list of 10 candidates published for the Cross River governorship poll, with Toyo, 67, as the governorship candidate and Ntui, 43, as her running mate.

According to INEC, the list also includes incumbent Governor Bassey Edet Otu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Archibong Arthur Javis of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Patrick of the Action Alliance (AA) and Ukpan John Odey of NDC to lock horns with Gov. Bassey Otu of ruling All Progressives Congress in the 2027 Gov’ship polls.

The publication of the final list officially confirms ADC’s ticket in INEC’s records and marks a major step in the party’s preparation for the 2027 election.

A chieftain of ADC in the state who preferred Comrade Jonah Edem, described the development as “a clear sign that ADC is ready to rescue Cross River State and offer credible leadership,” adding that the party has been mobilising at the grassroots.

Reacting to the list, a political observer in Calabar, Mr Frank Ikpi, said the inclusion of Toyo has added more colour to the race, stressing that “her experience as a former lawmaker and ambassador will be an asset in the contest.”

The ADC is now positioning itself as a credible alternative platform in Cross River State as it seeks to mobilise support across the 18 local government areas ahead of the polls.
