During the engagement, discussions centred on education, culture and community development.

Cenat is in Lagos to advance plans for a school project he previously pledged to support.

The initiative, initially proposed for the Makoko community, was later relocated to Yaba due to structural and environmental concerns.

The streamer also expressed admiration for Lagos, describing the city’s energy and creativity as unique.

He stated that Nigeria was the first country where he felt “100 per cent love,” adding that the reception he received upon arrival was overwhelming.

Cenat further pledged to promote Nigeria globally, saying he would return to the United States and tell people that “Nigeria is a place to go.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu, on his part, described the meeting as an opportunity to exchange perspectives and commended Cenat for his interest in youth development.

He welcomed the streamer back to Lagos, noting the state’s growing appeal to international creatives.

The governor also highlighted Lagos’ rich cultural heritage during the interaction, including discussions around traditional festivals such as the iconic Eyo festival.

Cenat, one of the most-followed streamers globally, is known for his live-streamed content across platforms including Twitch and YouTube, where he commands a massive youth-driven audience.

Officials of the Lagos State Government did not disclose further details regarding Cenat’s itinerary or the full scope of his engagements during the visit.

His trip comes weeks after another American streamer, IShowSpeed, visited Lagos, attracting large crowds and widespread attention across social media platforms.

During Kai Cenat’s 2024 visit to Lagos, Nigeria, he was hosted by music star Davido.

He immersed himself in Nigerian culture, earning the nickname “Femi Omo Weyrey,” sampling local foods, and learning slang.

A key moment was his visit to the Makoko community, where he toured the Makoko Children Development Foundation School and Orphanage.

Moved by the overcrowded conditions, he donated about $3,000 for immediate needs and pledged to fund a new school project, later growing into a $5 million initiative.
