
Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists have kidnapped the wife of a Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) pastor, Rev. Moses G. Guguma, along with their three children in Damasak, the headquarters of Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State.
Sources within the community said the abduction occurred around noon on Saturday as the family was travelling to Damasak.
Damasak, located in Borno North Senatorial District, is approximately 156 kilometres from Maiduguri, the state capital, and has witnessed repeated attacks by insurgents over the years.
According to reliable Source, the wife of the Pastor was hospitalized for sometime at a hospital in Maiduguri, and was discharged, which they embarked on the Journey of no return from Maiduguri to Damasak.
“The terrorists stopped the commercial vehicle closed to Kareto village and asked the pastor’s wife, along with her 3 children to disembark from the vehicle, leaving other passengers and the driver”. One of the sources said.
“The wife of the clergyman, whose identity is being withheld was recently discharged from hospital in Maiduguri after a prolong ailment”, the Source added.
As of the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of the victims remain unknown.
A local resident, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, reached out for prayers and solidarity, noting that the victims were targeted specifically due to their religious identity.
