Tottenham Hotspur have no plans to sell left-back Destiny Udogie in the coming years, sources have told Football Insider.
The Italian has been plagued by injuries in recent years and hasn’t played a minute for the Lilywhites in pre-season so far.
Nevertheless, Spurs are willing to remain patient with the 23-year-old, and are focusing on trying to help him through his latest issue, rather than formulating a plan to cash in on him.
Udogie is extremely “highly-regarded” by Roberto De Zerbi, and sources say that the North London club still view him as a player with great potential.
Tottenham already have their cover for Udogie in the building in Andy Robertson, and it is expected that he will start the season as first-choice at left-back.
Udogie managed just 14 starts in the Premier League last term, and Spurs are hoping to solve his injury issues for good this season.

Udogie hasn’t had an easy time of things at Tottenham in recent years, as he has failed to make over 30 Premier League appearances in any of his three campaigns for the club.
His summer preparations have been virtually non-existent so far, meaning he will be firmly behind the rest of the squad in terms of fitness when he returns to the fold.
Udogie’s current injury is not expected to be anything more than a knock, but it has still provided another setback for him.
Nevertheless, De Zerbi is a big fan of the defender and still sees him as a crucial part of his plans in North London.
The club have ample cover in that position through Robertson and Souza, which has negated the need for them to dip into the transfer market again.
Those options at left-back will also allow them to be a little more cautious with Udogie’s fitness than they have in previous seasons.

The Argentine is widely expected to leave Spurs this summer, and recent reports have suggested there is an interest from their bitter rivals, with Romero keen to make the move.
King emphasised that Spurs cannot sanction that deal unless it is for “ridiculous money,” and added that Romero and his agent have been “naughty” by generating the links.
He also outlined that the link is most likely to be a case of the player’s agent trying to drive “publicity.”
