Crystal Palace are accelerating plans to tie Tyrick Mitchell down to a new long-term contract, sources have told Football Insider.
The 27-year-old’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, although the club reserve the right to extend his deal by a further year if they choose to do so.
A number of clubs in the Premier League and across Europe are believed to be keeping tabs on his situation, including the likes of Man United and Liverpool, in case he becomes available.
The left-back has shone for Crystal Palace over the last 12 months, and has enjoyed a strong start to life under Pierre Sage where he remains a crucial part of the starting XI.
Palace chairman Steve Parish recently confessed there are “one or two” players the club are keen to tie down, and sources have indicated Mitchell is first in line.
That came following the agreement to extend Dean Henderson’s stay at Selhurst Park until 2030, amid plans to keep their best players at the club well into the future.

Sources have now confirmed that the England international is being lined up for a new deal at Selhurst Park, and talks are scheduled to take place before the turn of the year.
Since making his debut for the South London club in 2020, he has made 250 appearances across all competitions and lifted the FA Cup, Community Shield and Conference League.
As a result, the Eagles are keen to reward Mitchell for his performances and loyalty over a six-year period in which he has also established himself as a fans’ favourite.
The left-back is believed to be happy at Selhurst Park, where he remains a crucial part of the starting XI despite the summer signing of Ben Chilwell to provide competition.
After landing an agreement to extend Henderson’s contract, Palace are now stepping up their efforts to tie Mitchell and at least one of his teammates down to a new deal.
