In August 2026, popular Nigerian dancer Iweh Pascal Odinaka, fondly known as Poco Lee, made the headlines over sexual assault offences in the United Kingdom.
The Snaresbrook Crown Court confirmed that the dancer faced five charges, including two counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, and two counts of assault by penetration. The alleged offences were reported to have occurred in Tower Hamlets, east London, on July 23, 2026.
Since the incident, the dancer has returned to social media via his Instagram handle, sharing some pictures on Tuesday. In a series of photos from Cabot Square in London, he appeared relaxed and excited on the streets before enjoying a meal at a restaurant.
He also shared a clip of himself cooking Chinese food and enjoying some music while giving fans their first glimpse of him on social media after weeks away.
Poco Lee captioned his Instagram post simply, “ODINAKA.”
Granted bail on September 11, 2026, after spending weeks in custody. The UK court subsequently confirmed that the case remained active, despite social media claims that the complainant had withdrawn the case.
His management has also asked the public to avoid spreading unverified information about the case and allow the legal process to run its course.
His next plea hearing is scheduled for February 8, 2027, while his trial is expected to begin on March 8, 2027.
Born on the 21st of October, 1996, in Orlu, Imo State, Nigeria, to Kenneth and Augustina Iweh. He is the third of five children and was brought up in Ojo, Lagos. His father died when he was ten years old, leaving his mum to fend for the five children.
He attended the Nigerian Navy Primary School in Lagos, completed his secondary education at the Command Day Secondary School, and then attended Lagos State University for his bachelor’s degree.
Iweh earned the nickname “Poco Lee” in junior secondary music class because of his small stature. The word “poco a poco” in Latin musical language means “little by little” in effecting musical transition, and friends humorously referred to him as “poco” for his small stature. Referring to how he got his name, Lee said, “They started calling me ‘Poco’. I added ‘Lee’ to spice it up”. He is 5 ft 8 inches (172 cm) tall.
