Pastor Chris Okafor, Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, has surrendered to the police following multiple r@pe allegations and other offenses that could disturb public peace, the Lagos State Police Command confirmed. The case has been transferred to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Sylvester Alabi, for further investigation.
Okafor reportedly failed to honour a police invitation on Monday, despite being invited the previous day by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti. Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, stated that after Okafor missed the Monday appointment, he ordered his arrest. Okafor eventually presented himself to authorities on Tuesday.
CP Jimoh explained that the matter had already been under investigation at Zone 2 for approximately three weeks, and as the AIG oversees the zone, the case was handed back to his command. He added that complaints from alleged victims on social media prompted swift action, as ignoring them could compromise law and order.
The controversy began in December 2025 when several allegations emerged online, including claims by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala that Okafor engaged in a long-term s+xual relationship since 2017, broke promises of marriage, shared explicit content, and affected her previous marriage. Following the public outcry, Okafor reportedly apologised to his congregation on December 28, 2025, kneeling at the pulpit to seek forgiveness.
The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria is reportedly considering disciplinary action, while Okafor has stepped aside from his pastoral duties. The Lagos State Police Command assured that security for the alleged victims is in place, and investigations at SCID, Panti, and Zone 2 continue.
Okafor’s surrender comes as a direct response to the police’s arrest order and growing public pressure over the allegations.
