Nasarawa: Private university matriculates 487 students for 2025/2026 academic session

Mewar International University (MIU) Masaka, in Nasarawa state has matriculated 487 students in the 2025/2026 academic session.

Prof. Muhammad Tanko, Chancellor of the University who was represented by Pro- Chancellor Academic, Engr. Abubakar Sani Bello, disclosed this during the matriculation ceremony, on Thursday, in Karu local government area of Nasarawa state.

He congratulated the students for securing admission into the University, urging them to embrace self – discipline and pursue their studies with seriousness.

He explained that the newly admited students cut across various faculties, including faculty of sciences with 58 students in Computer Science, 94 in Cyber Security, 53 in Software Engineering and 34 in Biotechnology.

Those in the Management and Social Sciences were 14 students into Public Administration, 16 Entrepreneurship, 27 International Relations, 21 Accounting, 12 economics, with additional 50 into faculty of Law.

He added that 21 students were shared in four departments – Procurement, Political Science, Sociology, and Banking and Finance.

He called on them to be of good character and sound moral behavior, saying that the University is committed to providing quality education in a bid to produce quality graduates who could become future leaders of the country.

“Make the most of this opportunity, be disciplined in conduct, bold in vision, and steadfast in character.

“You have worked hard to get here and today you officially become a member of the Mewar International. My dear students the future belongs to those who work for it today, the world is waiting for your ideas, your solutions and your leadership.

“We assured you of our unweaverry commitment providing a safe supportive and intellectual stimulating environment where your children can thrive,” he said.

He therefore, thanked parents and guardians for having confidence in the school, while urging them to encourage more children to join the University.
