Morocco has filed an appeal after the Confederation of African Football fined both teams and rejected a petition to strip Senegal of the AFCON title.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation argues that the $615,000 fine imposed on Senegal does not reflect the seriousness of the offence in question, insisting that the sanction falls short of what the situation demands.
The appeal now places the focus squarely on CAF’s disciplinary handling of the case.
