Michael Carrick has seen his odds slashed to become the next Premier League manager to leave his post after Manchester United’s 3-2 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Red Devils were 2-0 up after 10 minutes at Old Trafford, but a shocking collapse resulted in their exit from the Carabao Cup in the third round.
Man United have had a poor start to their campaign and lost to a 10-man Manchester City side on the weekend.
Now, after the recent result, one UK bookmaker has slashed the odds of Carrick getting the boot next down to 10/3.
As a result, the 45-year-old is the third favourite to be sacked next, with the club sitting 13th in the Premier League table after four games.
Carrick signed a contract until 2028 in May after a successful period as caretaker last season.

Despite Carrick’s wonderful reign at Man United last season, a long-term appointment was always a risk.
The young coach has never managed a club of his magnitude before, and there was always a chance things could go downhill in the 2026-27 campaign.
So far, this has come to pass, with Man United not looking convincing in a single Premier League match to date.
As a result, the next few matches could define his reign, with Man United set to face Fulham, Tottenham and Leeds United in their next three Premier League matches.
If a minimum of six points aren’t achieved, Carrick could soon find himself without a job.

Currently Alvaro Arbeloa and Frank Lampard are the favourites to be sacked next at 3/1 odds.
Both Fulham and Coventry City have been dreadful so far this season, and are now arguably the favourites to be relegated from the Premier League.
Roberto De Zerbi is next at 5/1, with Tottenham Hotspur also having a terrible time this campaign.
Pierre Sage is also at 5/1, with the new Crystal Palace manager finding life in the Premier League tough.
However, it remains to be seen who will be the first manager to be dismissed in the 2026-27 season.
