Calum McFarlane’s big team decision for Saturday likely already made

Calum McFarlane will already be thinking about his team to face Manchester City this weekend in the FA Cup final, and one major decision for him will be at the back.

Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill had built a solid partnership last season, and they got right back to it against Liverpool on Saturday when they were paired up again. Even with a dodgy goalkeeper behind them, they looked good considering it was their first game together since the summer.

McFarlane may already have key decision made

Assuming Colwill is fit to start a second game in a week, that’s surely who the interim coach will go with. Trevoh Chalobah can count himself unlucky, as he’s been out best centre back this year, far better than Fofana.

But the momentum is with the Frenchman, and his partnership with Colwill should get him the nod, assuming the medical staff give the returning player the all clear for another start in the space of a week.

We await Saturday’s team sheet with great interest.
