The legendary Sadie King has returned to the village
What you need to know as Patsy Kensit returns to Emmerdale as Sadie King
- Patsy Kensit portrayed one of the most iconic characters in Emmerdale history. Sadie King was a defining character in the 2000s, and she is set to return to the Dales as part of a gripping new storyline.
- Sadie will step back inside The Woolpack after a 20 year absence. Patsy, now 58, was a core member of the ITV soap and was at the forefront of the drama from 2004 to 2006. She was involved in some of the soap’s most dramatic storylines.
- ITV bosses recently teased more information on Patsy Kensit’s legendary return. The peace and quiet of the Yorkshire Dales will be shattered by the arrival of a helicopter, signalling the return of the woman who once brought gold digging schemes, explosive affairs, and elaborate betrayals to the village.
- Patsy left the soap in 2006 and has gone on to star in several other projects including Holby City. She says she felt it was the perfect time to return to the Yorkshire village and is excited to step back into Sadie’s problematic shoes after two decades.
- The actress told the ECHO and other press: “I’m pathologically polite as a person, and Sadie just isn’t. Some of the things she would say, I used to live vicariously through her. I would never talk to anyone like that. I had so much fun and when we got the call it was a hard yes from me, absolutely. I came up to meet Laura [Emmerdale producer] and it’s wonderful. It’s overwhelming when you come back because it’s such a well-oiled machine.”
- Patsy added: “Over the last 20 years, the most questions I’ve had ever about work is ‘When are you going back to Emmerdale?’ and that’s a testament to how much people love the show and they really enjoyed the character. It’s a fantastic cast and I’m in great company. Emmerdale is the star and we all come together and I’m very very lucky.”
