Alert: XRP Whale Inflow to Binance is Drying Up

What to know:

  • XRP whale inflows to Binance dropped from 583 million tokens to 25.3 million, signaling significantly weaker selling pressure from large investors.
  • CryptoQuant’s 90-day average whale inflows declined from $460 million to $69 million, confirming a sustained slowdown in exchange deposits.
  • Lower whale selling has improved XRP’s market structure, although sustained buying demand remains necessary to support a durable price recovery.

XRP is showing early signs that one of its largest sources of selling pressure is fading as whale deposits to Binance fall to their lowest level since January 2025. According to CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost, large investors are transferring significantly fewer XRP tokens to the exchange, signaling that major holders are reducing their selling activity while the asset consolidates around the $1 level.

The latest on-chain data suggests that the market structure is gradually improving despite XRP’s muted price action. Although the cryptocurrency remains within a narrow trading range, the steady decline in whale inflows points to weakening distribution from large holders. Consequently, investors are watching whether stronger buying demand can build on this development.

According to Darkfost, market recoveries typically unfold in two stages, beginning with the gradual exhaustion of selling pressure before sustained buying demand drives a lasting price advance, and XRP now appears to be entering that first phase.

Binance records steep decline in XRP whale deposits

According to Darkfost, whale inflows to Binance have fallen dramatically over the past several months. Large investors previously transferred as much as 583 million XRP, worth approximately $1.36 billion, to Binance, but that figure has since dropped to just 25.3 million XRP, valued at roughly $23 million.

This decline suggests that fewer whales are moving XRP onto Binance, an activity commonly associated with preparing assets for sale. As a result, the reduced exchange inflows indicate that one of the market’s biggest sources of sell-side pressure is gradually disappearing.

Additionally, CryptoQuant’s 90-day moving average reinforces the same trend. This indicator smooths out daily fluctuations to provide a clearer view of long-term market behavior. It has declined from approximately $460 million in January 2025 to only $69 million, confirming that whale selling activity has steadily weakened rather than reflecting a temporary slowdown.

Meanwhile, XRP has traded around the $1 mark since June, even as whale inflows continued to decline. This divergence suggests that the market has found greater stability despite broader price weakness. Lower exchange deposits also indicate that major holders are no longer supplying Binance with the same volume of tokens seen earlier this year.

Demand remains the missing piece for a stronger recovery

According to Darkfost, the decline in whale inflows marks an important milestone, but it does not guarantee an immediate price rally. Reduced selling pressure creates a healthier environment for the market, yet stronger buying demand remains necessary to drive a sustained upward move.

Until new capital enters the market consistently, XRP could remain within its consolidation range despite the noticeable decline in whale selling. A lasting bullish trend will depend on buyers absorbing available supply while whale inflows remain subdued.

Conclusion

XRP’s whale inflows to Binance have fallen to their lowest level since January 2025, easing a major source of selling pressure in the market. While that strengthens the asset’s underlying structure, a durable price recovery will ultimately depend on sustained buying demand rather than reduced selling activity alone.
