Saudi Arabia strongly condemned on Friday the bombing that targeted a security checkpoint in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in northwestern Pakistan.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry reaffirmed the Kingdom’s firm rejection of violence, terrorism, and extremism in all their forms.
It expressed Saudi Arabia’s solidarity with the government and people of Pakistan, extended its sincere condolences to the families of the victims, and wished Pakistan and its people continued security and safety.
A suicide bomber backed by gunmen attacked a security checkpoint in Khyber, killing 15 members of the security forces, the military said Friday.
In a statement, the military said troops repelled the overnight assault in Tank, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, and killed 12 militants.
The military blamed the attack on the Pakistani Taliban, known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, or TTP.
