Uganda’s army chief, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has backtracked and issued an apology after previously making threats against opposition leader Bobi Wine.
The reversal follows strong international pressure, including warnings from the United States, and has reignited debate over military conduct, political speech, and the boundaries of civil-military relations in Uganda.
