U.S. President Donald Trump has strongly criticised the 68th Grammy Awards

U.S. President Donald Trump has strongly criticised the 68th Grammy Awards, calling the ceremony “virtually unwatchable” and attacking host Trevor Noah over a joke made during the broadcast. In a post on Truth Social shortly after the event, Trump described the Grammys as “the WORST” and accused Noah of making false and defamatory remarks on air.

The controversy followed a joke by Noah while announcing the Song of the Year award. He said the prize was desired by artists “almost as much as Trump wants Greenland,” adding that “since Epstein’s gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton.” The comment referenced disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and his private island, where serious crimes were later uncovered.

Trump wrote that CBS was lucky to be rid of what he called “garbage” programming and labelled Noah “a total loser,” comparing him unfavourably to Jimmy Kimmel. He also denied the claim outright, saying, “Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!! … I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close,” warning that the statement was “false and defamatory.”
