The 2–1 defeat to Fulham shows exactly why Chelsea desperately need experienced players

The 2–1 defeat to Fulham shows exactly why Chelsea desperately need experienced players and real leaders in this squad.

Marc Cucurella’s red card was the correct decision. No debate. What was embarrassing was seeing Chelsea players swarm the referee and complain, only to pick up needless yellow cards for Cole Palmer, Tosin Adarabioyo and Enzo Fernández.

Instead of moaning at the referee, the players should be directing their frustration at Cucurella for a brain-dead moment that put the team in trouble.

That lack of composure, leadership and game management is killing us.

This squad is talented, but talent alone isn’t enough.

It’s a real shame the board still can’t see that this team needs experience, authority and leaders on the pitch — not just potential.

Ridiculous.

  1. If you yellow card the captain then who needs to represent the team

  2. And while this was happening,,,gusto no doubt expected a penalty award was destroying the penalty spot😡

  3. Very needless red card, concede the goal and have the opportunity to equalise and win the game….

  4. Chelsea players lack discipline. So was Maresca the former coach. Indisipline is what he imbibed in the players. Just picking yellow and red cards anyhow. FA should look for a way to punish clubs like this so they can put their teams in order. It is a shame to see our darling team behaving in this manner.

  5. We played like a bunch of entitled primadonnas apart from Delap

  6. I just Dey pity Chelsea with the way dem take Dey chop beating lately 🤣🤣

  7. Well said and spot on. Not only the league’s youngest team, the most immature.

  8. Tosin could have been at his duty post to ease the burden on Cucu

  9. Who is that experience players that you will sign if giving opportunities

  10. i agree ts not right to swarm the refaree but to direct your frustrations to your mate coz he got red card ts not right either
