• Odebunmi engaging constituents at Surulere council, Iresaapa, at the launch
Chair of Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, Segun Odebunmi, is set to mobilise the grassroots for re-election of President Bola Tinubu, with launch of Tinubu Support Group (TSG).
The unveiling took place at a meeting of loyal members of APC in Iresapa, Surulere Local Government of Oyo State.
The gathering drew stakeholders, ward leaders and supporters from the council.
Odebunmi said the President’s economic reforms are repositioning the economy.
He referenced removal of fuel subsidy, efforts to stabilise the foreign exchange market, measures to reduce food prices, introduction of student loan scheme, and initiatives to strengthen security.
He noted that the decisions, though difficult, were in the best interest of the country, saying a second term would allow Tinubu to consolidate on the reforms and deliver more benefits to Nigerians.
Odebunmi urged members and supporters to intensify mobilisation at the grassroots, calling on them to return to their polling units, wards and local governments to strengthen the party’s structure.
The former chair of House Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values also encouraged members to serve as worthy ambassadors of the Renewed Hope Agenda and to work closely with party leadership in preparation for upcoming party congresses.
A major highlight of the meeting was the defection of hundreds of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC in the council area.
The defectors, led by Olukunle Oloyede, cited Odebunmi’s leadership and performance as their motivation for joining the ruling party.
They pledged to bring more supporters into the APC fold in the months ahead.
