“I’m never surprised. Managers don’t get a fair crack of the whip across the board in football,” ex-Chelsea winger Joe Cole told Paddy Power when asked for his reaction to the news.
“There’s so much infrastructure around a manager now, how much power does he actually have? He picks the team on the weekend and in a lot of cases I don’t even think that’s completely down to them.
“I think there’s pressure put on managers to pick certain players, based off the managers I’ve spoken to that are in and out of jobs.
“I don’t think he [Maresca] was given enough time. He’d done a good job in the circumstances and the club’s statement on his departure reflected that.”
Asked who he would like to see manage Chelsea, Cole replied: “I know it’s a mental one but Jurgen Klopp.”

Even if he agrees to come.. we all saw how it took 3 years for him to build Liverpool…. I’m very sure… Chelsea rarely gives a manager 3 years to build.. highest 2 years.. mind you his tactics will take a toil on Reece james who’s fitness needs to be managed properly… and most times his best players get worn out……..
Huyu hatawezana na pressure ya wakubwa
what abt zidane
Une bonne idée
Chelsea should get a coach with a very good track record and experience in the EPL and globally. It is now very obvious that Chelsea can’t make any headway with experimental coaches and players.
We will be very happy if they can give us klopp
I think it’s a great shout has a proven track record of developing young talent too
What a twist into 2026 ,
That’ll certainly liven the Prem
Nah, they would struggle to get his teeth down the Fulham Road 🤣🤣
But Klopp has promise Liverpool that he will never ever coach any club In England
