Falz berates Nigerian pastors for allowing ‘evil’ politicians use pulpits for campaigns (Video)

Musician and activist, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has berated Nigerian religious leaders for allowing politicians to use church pulpits as campaign platforms ahead of future elections.

Falz, who bared his mind on Sunday in a video that has gone viral on social media, decried what he described as Nigerians’ continued silence in the face of insecurity, killings, and poor governance.

He stressed that despite repeated attacks by terrorists in different parts of the country, government responses often remain limited to routine statements, with little accountability or justice for victims.

He questioned why arrests and prosecutions are rarely carried out after such incidents, noting that violence continues daily across the country.

On the controversy surrounding the electoral reforms bill, Falz emphasized that lawmakers are resisting the reforms such as real-time transmission of election results because it would reduce opportunities for rigging, and urged Nigerians to recognise the cycle of repeated political deception and stop enabling leaders who fail to deliver meaningful change.

“They’ve announced coordinators for the East, for the West, for the South. Now, these guys will still go to these same places, and your Papa, your Daddy G.O, will allow them on the pulpit to campaign to you and will convince you that you should vote for this same evil,” he stated.

“And you too, in the same cycle, in the same pattern that we’ve been doing for years, you will follow suit and you will vote.
“Papa did not tell you that currently, the Senate is refusing to adopt the resolution amending the Electoral Act to allow for real-time transmission of election results because they know it will not allow them to rig. Papa will not tell you that one.
“Papa will just tell you to sit down there and wait and pray for a spiritual solution. No problem. Let’s wait.”
