An exclusive reports that Chelsea have made a move for a new manager, and it’s not Liam Rosenior from Strasbourg.
The English coach who is already part of Chelsea’s BlueCo setup, is the main candidate who has largely been tipped to become the next Chelsea head coach after they sacked Enzo Maresca on New Years Day.

He even appeared to say his goodbyes to Strasbourg after their latest game against Nice in Ligue 1 yesterday, so to me it very much looks like Rosenior will be installed as the next Chelsea manager.
So it is a surprise to me to see that Chelsea have apparently made a move to bring in another manager who is not Rosenior. Although I guess that in this game nothing should surprise us anymore.
Chelsea in for Howe?
Football Insider are claiming that Chelsea have sounded out Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe about becoming their next manager.
The report says that Howe is firmly on Chelsea‘s radar although it remains to be seen if he would leave Newcastle mid-season to join a club where managers have a notoriously short shelf life.
Will not happen
I don’t think this has much chance at all of happening to be honest. Howe wont leave Newcastle right now and also, Newcastle’s owners will not let him go, especially not halfway through the season.
I’m sure Chelsea have probably looked at Howe, and I know that they have looked at him a few times recently as well. But I think there is very little chance, in fact, no chance at all of Howe becoming the next Chelsea manager.
I think this is a rumour we can just bypass and move on from. I believe Rosenior will become Chelsea’s next head coach, and I think we will see that appointment confirmed very early next week.
