Why Do Most Students Who Graduated with Third Class in Nigerian Universities Perform Well In Their Postgraduate Abroad?

I have noticed that in many cases those Nigerian Students who has third class in their various universities here end up performing well when they go for postgraduate studies abroad. What is the reason? Is it that there are factors contributing to their non performance here?
