Following the prolonged Strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, with no positive outcome yet, Federal government has filed a suit challenging the Strike.
Chris Ngige, Minister of labour and employment, has asked the industrial court to give accelerated hearing to the suit filed against the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) over the prolonged strike of the union.
ASUU has been on strike since February 14 to press home their demands for improved funding for universities, and a review of salaries for lecturers, among other issues.
In the recent meeting of the Union, ASUU embarked on an indefinite strike.
