The Premier League relegation battle took another twist on Saturday as West Ham demolished Sunderland 3-1 at the Stadium of Light, increasing pressure on Nottingham Forest’s Sean Dyche.
It was a dominant win for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side as they moved within two points of Nottingham Forest in 17th.
The Hammers have completely turned their fortunes around in recent weeks and could now pull themselves out of trouble despite West Ham being heavy favourites to be relegated just weeks ago.
Now, while the London Stadium faithful will be loving this newfound form, many Nottingham Forest fans are fearing the worst.

Nottingham Forest fans hope that West Ham resurgence speeds up Sean Dyche sacking
Forest have been poor throughout the season.
The memories of last season’s success have long been forgotten, with the Red amidst a relegation battle.
However, in recent weeks, results have taken a downturn, with Forest being knocked out of the FA Cup by Wrexham, while also losing 1-0 to Braga on Thursday in the Europa League.
Now, with relegation looking more and more likely, many Nottingham Forest fans are hoping that the West Ham result speeds up Dyche’s sacking.
We’re down is dyche stays. Get him gone after tomorrow, regardless of the result #nffc #NFFC

Best thing that can happen to us this.
Puts huge pressure on Dyche.
Would have had 3/4 games, now he might have 1 or 2.
Get him gone #nffc— Brummie Tricky 🌳 (@BrummieTricky) January 24, 2026
However, many fans now believe that relegation is inevitable, with West Ham picking up momentum in recent weeks.
We are down. Nothing any of us can do. Dyche / ownership / players let us down. We are so done. Game over Forest. #NFFC

We’re as good as down unless Dyche goes , West Ham are miles better than us. Well done to Edu and Marinakis #nffc

Is Dyche currently on track to achieve Premier League survival at Nottingham Forest?
Dyche’s reputation is built upon being able to keep teams in the Premier League against the odds.
The manager was able to keep both Burnley and Everton afloat for years before he was eventually sacked at both clubs.
Nevertheless, he does not have a Premier League relegation on his CV at present.
Currently, Dyche is averaging 1.31 points per game in the English top-tier with Forest since his appointment.
If he is able to keep this up, the Reds will finish with around 43 points, a tally that has never seen a side relegated from the Premier League.
Therefore, while Forest fans may currently fear the worst, Dyche is currently set to achieve his goal of keeping the East Midlands side in the Premier League.
However, it remains to be seen if he is able to maintain the support of the City Ground faithful going into the second half of the campaign.
