US Embassy and Consulate in Nigeria opens applications for five job vacancies


The United States Embassy and Consulate in Nigeria has announced the recruitment of qualified candidates for five positions across different departments.

The vacancies are open to interested applicants who meet the requirements for the respective roles. Applications must be submitted through the Electronic Recruitment Application (ERA) portal, as applications sent through any other channel will not be considered.

While most vacancies close in early August 2026, one position will remain open until a suitable candidate is selected.

1. Consulate General Residence Vegetarian Chef

Application Status: Open until filled

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing vegetarian meals for the Consulate General Residence while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene and safety.


2. Emerging Voices Exchanges Coordinator (Public Engagement Assistant)

Application Deadline: 4 August 2026

The role involves coordinating public engagement programmes, managing exchange initiatives and supporting communication activities that strengthen educational and cultural relationships.


3. Procurement Agent

Application Deadline: 4 August 2026

The successful applicant will support procurement activities by sourcing goods and services, managing vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with U.S. government procurement procedures.


4. Surveillance Detection Coordinator

Application Deadline: 4 August 2026

The position involves coordinating surveillance detection operations, monitoring security risks and supporting the mission’s overall security programme.


5. Accounts Payable Technician/Alternate Cashier

Application Deadline: 6 August 2026

The successful candidate will process financial transactions, maintain payment records, support cashier functions and ensure compliance with financial management procedures.
