Rangers could finally be about to solve their troubling mentality issues that cost the club the Scottish Premiership title last season.
The Gers collapsed in the post-split run-in, with a run of four defeats seeing them go from favourites to a nailed-on third-place finish.
Despite Danny Rohl’s protests, it was clear that there was a mentality issue at the Old Firm club which caused this four-game losing streak.
Now, it is clear Derek McInnes is aiming to solve this after reports emerged that Rangers had bid £3.86million for Vanja Dragojevic.
If all goes through, it would be the third captain to come through the doors at Ibrox this summer.
This is clearly no accident, with McInnes keen to solve this horrific issue once and for all.
Vanja Dragojevic could be another leader added to Rangers’ dressing room
In the backend of the 2025-26 campaign, it was clear that Rangers had little to no leaders in their dressing room.
This helped to coincide with poor results on the pitch, with the Gers unable to bounce back after their surprise defeat to Motherwell.
With James Tavernier also now out of the door, it was vital that leaders were brought into the dressing room.
Now, if Mozzart Sport’s report is true, Rangers could have at least three captains through their door this summer.
Dragojevic is currently the captain of Partizan Belgrade, despite being just 20 years old.
Lawrence Shankland, formerly Hearts’ captain, and Dan Neil, who captained Sunderland to the Premier League, have previously come through the door this summer.
Therefore, if Dragojevic is signed, Rangers will have leaders in all important areas of the pitch, and will finally solve the mentality issues they had that cost them the league title last season.
Who else are Rangers looking to sign this summer?
Rangers have also been heavily linked with Motherwell’s Elijah Just this summer transfer window.
However, Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Rangers are facing fresh hurdles to sign Just.
It is believed to be an open race for the attacker after he had an impressive World Cup with New Zealand.
Just is in the final year of his contract at Motherwell, and it is understood that the required fee to sign him will be well below the £5million mark as a result.
