The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared winners in several federal and state constituency bye-elections conducted across the country on Saturday, with the All Progressives Congress (APC) recording victories in most of the contests.

Results announced by the electoral body show that the APC secured wins in Enugu, Kebbi, Kano and Ondo states, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) clinched victory in Rivers South-East Senatorial District.

Enugu North Senatorial District

APC candidate Ikeje Asogwa emerged victorious in the Enugu North Senatorial bye-election after polling 162,360 votes.

He defeated PDP candidate Chief Nestor Ezeme, who garnered 9,299 votes.

The election was held to fill the vacancy created by the death of Senator Okey Ezea on November 18, 2025.

Kebbi State Assembly

In Kebbi State, APC candidate Rabiu Garba Aiki won the Zuru State Constituency bye-election into the State House of Assembly.

Aiki secured 4,887 votes, defeating Labour Party candidate Aliyu Galadima Muhammad, who polled 168 votes.

The seat became vacant following the death of former Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru.

INEC also declared Rabiu Shuaibu of the APC winner of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency bye-election in Kano State.

Shuaibu polled 35,356 votes, defeating Lawal Garba-Haruna of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), who secured 268 votes, and Abubakar Yahaya-Muhammad of the Labour Party, who scored 98 votes.

The bye-election followed the death of former lawmaker Muhammad Danjuma-Hassan of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Rivers South-East Senatorial District

In Rivers State, PDP candidate Olaka Nwogu emerged victorious in the Rivers South-East Senatorial bye-election.

Nwogu polled 47,961 votes to defeat APC candidate Osar Erewari, who scored 1,647 votes.

The election was conducted to replace late Senator Barry Mpigi, who died in February.

Ondo South Senatorial District

APC candidate Dayo Faduyile won the Ondo South Senatorial bye-election with 68,474 votes.

His closest challenger, Adeolu Akinwunmi of the APM, polled 1,411 votes.

The seat became vacant following the appointment of former Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

Nasarawa North Senatorial District

As of the time of filing this report, INEC had yet to officially announce the result of the Nasarawa North Senatorial bye-election.

The poll was conducted across Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga and Wamba Local Government Areas to fill the vacancy left by the late Senator Godiya Akwashiki.

The results further consolidate APC’s electoral dominance in the latest round of bye-elections, while the PDP retained its influence in Rivers South-East.
