Ghana to sign defence cooperation agreement with the European Union

Ghana is set to become the first African country to sign a defence cooperation agreement with the European Union, in a move reflecting shifting global security partnerships.

The landmark deal is expected to be formalized in the coming days, marking the first time the EU has established such a security arrangement with an African nation.

According to EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, the bloc will also sign similar defence partnership agreements with Australia and Iceland.
