Dr. Ibrahim Dada Nakowa, National President of the Modern Traditional Medicine Practitioners of Nigeria, has urged Nigerians to leverage the power of medicinal plants as a viable alternative to orthodox medicines.
He made this appeal during the official opening of Dr. Angela Chinda’s traditional medical center at Abacha Barracks, Abuja, emphasizing that traditional medicine is a natural solution to various health challenges.
“Whatever health issue you’re facing, and medical doctors are struggling to find a solution, try traditional medicine. It’s a gift to humanity, capable of treating a wide range of sicknesses and diseases. We do our part, but ultimately, God heals,” Dr. Nakowa said, highlighting the efficacy of traditional remedies.
Dr. Angela Chinda, the proud owner of the newly opened center, expressed her gratitude to Dr. Nakowa for gracing the occasion. She encouraged Nigerians to explore traditional medicine, citing her personal experience. “I was initially skeptical about traditional medicine, but after visiting Lagos and Cameroon, I gained a deeper understanding of its importance. I now prefer it to orthodox drugs. I’m thankful for the knowledge and wisdom to run my practice,” she said.
The event was also attended by Dr. Shaba Maikudi, a respected traditional medicine practitioner and representative of the National Association of Nigeria Traditional Medicine Practitioners.
