Ahead of the 2027 general elections, a major support group of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on the aiges of the National Progressive Hub (NPH) has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, even as it unveiled coordinators nationwide for grassroots mobilisation.

The support group decllared that it is proud of the administration’s successes and reforms undertaken less than three years in office.

Speaking with newsmen after the public endorsement and the inauguration of its state coordinators in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the Chief Host, Mallam Shehu Dikko, said President Tinubu has demonstrated strong leadership capacity in tackling Nigeria’s economic and developmental challenges, stressing that continuity was necessary to consolidate ongoing reforms.

He urged Nigerian youths to take ownership of the mobilisation process by actively engaging communities at the grassroots level to support the President’s re-election bid.

“Mr. President is taking decisions today for a better tomorrow, in which the main beneficiaries are the youth. So, it behooves the youths to come together and make sure they go to the grassroots and keep this message flying, to ensure Mr. President is given the opportunity and support to continue with these massive reforms that are being viewed across all sectors of the economy.

“Mr. President is an expert in solving big problems and converting them to prosperity, and he has done that when he was the Lagos State Governor, and now he is doing it in Nigeria generally. At the beginning, it was a bit tough; people were complaining, but Mr. President was resolute because he knows the direction he is going and what he wants to achieve for the country, and he is doing it for the future.

“So, as youths, we have to make sure that we rebirth Mr. President and deliver on his mandate, and give him the support to continue until 2031.

“The bold decisions taken by Mr. President are all for the betterment of Nigeria and the youth, and I am sure history will be very kind to him. That is why we are here to support him. It is not just about the elite; we need to unveil the 37 coordinators who will go back to their various states and build structures from the local governments to the states and wards. This is to make sure the message is delivered the right way, as 2027 is very crucial for our party,” he said.

Dikko, who also chairs the National Sports Commission, highlighted the growing contribution of the sports sector to Nigeria’s economy, noting that government investment in sports development was yielding economic benefits.

According to him, In 2025, apart from the major achievements we have recorded, we put over one hundred and forty thousand dollars on the table, which is quite huge. Sports are contributing over 1% of the GDP every quarter, which amounts to about 4% at the end of the year, and we are still calculating. So, sports are a key driver of the economy as it is today. All thanks to the vision of our dear President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The National Coordinator of the National Progressive Hub, Hon. Bukie Okangbe, said the inauguration of coordinators nationwide was part of efforts to expand the group’s political structure and ensure effective mobilisation in support of the President’s re-election.

She expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure victory in the 2027 presidential election while calling for recognition of party loyalists who contribute to electoral success.

“We decided to have a sober meeting within the family and speak with one voice. So, it is not just me; it is the group as a whole. The group is very big, and we have the Chief Host and other members of the group, like Senator John Eno and other stakeholders.

“They came up with this, and the Chief Host decided to make sure it happened. We have spoken in one voice; we have endorsed Mr. President.

“If we win the election, we want to make sure that we get our rewards. We want the best for the country. We want to work, and we want to see our party grow. We want to see people speak positively about our party. We want to contribute our own quota.

“We know we are going to win. We want to see a bag of rice return to twenty thousand naira. We also believe the naira will appreciate. We know Asiwaju can do it. We will work for him. He is good to go. He is already doing a lot with reforms, and we pray that it all goes well, in God’s name.”
