NSCDC, Tantita Security Firm Unveil World Class Security Control Centre

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in collaboration with Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd on Thursday, unveiled a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre to boost security in Nigeria.

Tantita Managing Director, Kestin Ebimorbowei, said that the partnership was born out of conceived progress of President Bola Tinubu’s vision to straighten the country up and harness its full economic potential.

The managing director, represented by Capt. Warredi Enisuoh the Executive Director of Operations and Technical department, said that although the centre was located in Abuja, it would work beyond its location.

“It is to give us further eyes in the skies, on land, real-time event management and to ensure proper delivery of NSCDC core mandate, this is not even enough but is the beginning of many to come.

“The 24/7 fully furnished centre will enable the corps alongside sister agencies carry out its responsibility with ease,” he said.

Enisuoh appreciated operatives of the corps for actively protecting guards of Tantita in the discharge of their duties, noting that, probate guards are not empowered to bear arms.

“Even in situations that seemed too far to go, civil defence was there with us. They have lost men while discharging their duties with us and that is why we are supporting the corps with technology to enhance their operations,” he said.

He said that the private security company would continue to support families of deceased personnel who died while discharging their statutory duties while working with Tantita.

He added that the company will continue to strengthen partnership with the corps as he rated the synergy between both organisations as a “ten over ten”.

“Our partnership with civil defence ten over ten and if there is anything called eleven over ten, I will say so and I can’t even measure it because if somebody in uniform is willing to die to keep you alive, I don’t know how you will measure that,” he said.

In his remarks, NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Audi, appreciated the fully furnished building and two new Hilux vehicles donated by Tantita.

He disclosed that the building was named, ‘Nuhu Ribadu Hydrocarbon and Maritime Security Command and Control Centre’.

“This centre is going to be interlinked with the National Security Advisers Office and of course, bring about a sophisticated collaboration with other stakeholders like Tantita,” Audi disclosed.

The Commandant General said that the centre will provide an enabling environment for the dissemination and sharing of credible information amongst agencies.

“Data is very, very central to the growth and development of any nation so this edifice is going to go a long way to help the corps have some level of improvement on it operations that relates to hydrocarbon and maritime security in this nation,” he said.

Zuma Energy Power Ltd, Executive Chairman, Dr Innocent Ezuma while donating a building for the services of Very Important Personnel (VIP), said that the edifice will elevate operational efficiency excellence in the discharge of the corps responsibility to protect VIPs.

Ezuma represented by Nwoko Alex said that the platform goes beyond providing services for VIPs but to ensure national security.

“We join hands with the corps to bring this global standard to our shores. It holds unique significant to every stakeholder and will elevate operational excellence.

“We believe be this center will deliver immediate and economic value to the nation and position Nigeria for global business,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that in commemoration of the World Civil Defence Day on March 1, the corps also inaugurated a Fire station, a 24 unit staff quarters and virtually inaugurated NSCDC Bauchi state command complex. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
