A Nigerian man who travelled abroad to enlist in the Russian military f+ghting against Ukraine has been k+lled on the battlefield.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been officially disclosed. Reports indicate that he left his family in Nigeria to join the Russian Army amid the ongoing conflict.
His d+ath comes shortly after reports that a 28-year-old Kenyan national, Clinton Nyapara Mogesa, was also k+lled while fighting for Russian forces in eastern Ukraine.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed the Nigerian’s d+ath in a brief social media post on Monday, stating that he was k+lled in combat. However, no further details were provided.
The Nigerian was believed to be among several foreign nationals recruited by Russia through direct enlistment or inducements, including promises of financial rewards, residency, or other benefits.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence confirmed that Mogesa died during combat operations in the Donetsk region. His body was found by Ukrainian forces at a former Russian position after an a§§ault.
Authorities said Mogesa had been living and working in Qatar before travelling to Russia, where he reportedly received minimal training before being sent to the battlefield.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, he was deployed to an a§§ault unit in eastern Ukraine, a region that has witnessed intense f+ghting and heavy casualties on both sides.
