Zimbabwean preacher and social commentator Joshua Maponga has sparked intense debate after arguing that Africa does not need democracy, but military rulers, citing Burkina Faso’s Captain Ibrahim Traoré as an example.
The remarks have triggered strong reactions across the continent, reopening sharp divisions over governance models, leadership legitimacy, and Africa’s political future.

For this 23rd century?
A country is not lead by your idiologies
Dictators with term limits
Dictators who will be accountable after their 10 yr rule
Presidents shd be rotational
Age limit of mp and president
Sounds true but will these political dictators who are democrat leave power
Most democratic Leaders fail to direct their people to understand tht all resources in Africa belongs to us. So many foreigners still come to Africa with machinery and buy minerals claims cheap. There Continue looting while most of our people are begging to be employed on foreign land working as slaves. ASK any African person working in Diaspora will tell you tht i left my country because of mismanaged Economy. So many people dont know the meaning of Economy in 3words which simply means Demand and supply. We fail to produce to meet tht demand in Africa waiting for white people to invest in things we can do. Simply we dont think!! maybe is because Aids which has hit most of our people and most of then dont care to develop themselves because they think they will die 🤷🏾♀️
Chiefs and Kings. Ubuntu
There’s a good reason why the majority of Burkinabes are in support of president Ibrahim Traore
He even went further to say “Africa needs a dictator who will dictate the right thing” he is right this individuals from political parties have failed us with Thier democracy
Democracy and dictatorship, two sides of the same coin. People have expectations that are to be met by either of them. If those expectations are not met, none of them makes sense
Says a man who ran away from Mugabe’s dictatorship
