Two months ago, this man bought a wrecked Ford Mustang after the muscle car had had a third-degree encounter with a pole. The vehicle was terribly crumpled and dented and looked every inch a write-off. However, Ben fixed it, and the 2024 Mustang, once on its way to the crusher, now looks ready to rumble.
But Ben saw potential in the wreckage with only 5,000 miles on the clock and a salvage title, like a gazillion Mustangs on the salvage car market. We should stick to the point.
Beyond stereotypes, we can’t help mentioning that the reckless behavior of some Ford Mustang drivers led to the permanent ban of the pony car, along with the Chevrolet Camaros, Dodge Chargers, and Challengers at the Coffee & Cars events.
Too much high revving, too much tail-fishing, and too many crashes into curbs, poles, or even worse, crowds, convinced the organizers that having them at their weekly gatherings could prompt hazards for the participants as well as for those waiting outside to catch a glimpse of these cars.
This might be the case for this 2024 Ford Mustang, which slammed into a pole shortly after leaving the showroom floor at the beginning of the year.
Now, in the final stage of the repair, Ben assembled the interior back together like a puzzle. He put back the side skirts, door handles, headlights, and a side mirror. He is missing the other one, but already ordered it, together with a new grille, bumper, and passenger window. All the missing components are on their way.
Ben disclosed his plan back in March, when he took on the rebuild project. He was planning to sell his own Mustang with a ten-speed auto box and use the blue one, which is equipped with a six-speed manual. He can now enjoy all the 480 horsepower (487 metric horsepower) and 415 pound-feet (563 Newton meters) of torque the old-school way.
The car goes through detailing and, at the end of the procedure, it looks like it hasn’t even left the dealership yet. Nobody can tell that it had a violent argument with a pole on the side of the road soon after it was delivered.
