President Tinubu Directs Security Forces to Track Down Perpetrators of Kasuwan Daji Attack in Niger State
Following the d+adly att@ck on Kasuwan Daji market in Demo village, Borgu Local Government Area, Niger State, which claimed over 30 lives, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed top security officials to track down, apprehend, and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The Saturday raid, carried out by armed b@ndits reportedly emerging from Kainji Lake National Park, left multiple people abd¥cted including women and children while valuables worth millions of naira were looted and the market set ablaze.
Through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu condemned the “barbaric” att@ck and stressed that all perpetrators and anyone aiding them would face full consequences.
He instructed the Minister of Defence, Chief of Defence Staff, all Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the DSS Director-General to launch an intensified manhunt and urgently rescue abducted victims.
The President further assured residents that security operations would be strengthened in vulnerable communities, especially forest-bordering areas, and called for national unity in confronting terr+rism.
Niger State Police spokesperson SP Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the ongoing rescue efforts, noting joint security teams were on the ground.
The incident underscores Nigeria’s ongoing struggle with b@nditry and insurgency, highlighting the need for coordinated counterterr+rism strategies.
