NDLEA sensitises Abia traders against drug abuse, trafficking


The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency , NDLEA Abia State Command, has carried out a sensitization programme at the Ehere Electronic Market in Obingwa local government area of Abia State.

The programme is part of ongoing efforts to curb drug abuse and trafficking.

The sensitization exercise which was led by ACN Frank Nwaohamou and supported by a team of officers, was targeted at traders within the market.

Nwaohamou while sensitising the traders, warned them against the dangers  associated with drug abuse , illegal trafficking of narcotics  and psychotropic substances.

During the interactive session, NDLEA officers highlighted the social, health, and economic consequences of drug abuse, stressing its negative impact on individuals, families, and the wider community.

Participants were also enlightened on the legal implications of engaging in drug-related activities and were encouraged to support NDLEA efforts by providing timely and credible information to law enforcement agencies.

Leaders and members of Ehere Electronic Market in their response, promised to support promote drug-free environment around the market.
