Elon Musk seeks custody after baby mama reportedly hints at transitioning their one-year-old son
Tech billionaire Elon Musk has announced plans to seek full custody of his one-year-old son following public comments made by the child’s mother, Ashley St. Clair, about her past views on transgender issues.
Musk made the disclosure on Monday in a post on X, responding to a user who expressed concern about the situation. He said his decision was influenced by statements he interpreted as suggesting the possibility of transitioning a child at a very young age.
“I will be filing for full custody today, given her statements implying she might transition a one-year-old boy,” Musk wrote.
The X owner’s comments came shortly after St. Clair issued a public apology for what she described as her previous transphobic remarks. Musk indicated that her recent statements raised serious concerns for him.
As of the time of reporting, St. Clair had not directly responded to Musk’s custody claim.
St. Clair, a right-wing influencer, gained public attention in February 2025 when she revealed that Musk is the father of her son, saying she had initially kept the information private to protect the child’s safety and privacy.
On Sunday, she publicly expressed regret over her past views, acknowledging that they may have caused harm. In a post on X, she said she felt guilty about the impact of her statements and claimed she has been working privately to learn, make amends, and support the transgender community.
She also noted that she had hesitated to speak publicly, fearing her apology would be dismissed as insincere or politically motivated, but said she felt it was important to express remorse and ask how she could help.
