Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has said that the state government has taken all the required steps to modernize and rebrand the veterinary clinics and abattoirs across the state.

The development, he said, will significantly increase the value and worth of the state and its residents in terms of food production and food security.

Bala Mohammed was speaking when he inaugurated a steering committee for the Bauchi State Committee on World Bank-assisted project, Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support project (L-PRES).

The project is designed to improve productivity of livestock production, income generation for the people and substantial reduction of poverty rate among the people.

The governor added that the transformation has been carried out to attract investors, donor agencies, and development partners both within and outside the country.

The Governor assured that land has been acquired for the construction of a modern Veterinary Clinic at Ran road to further facilitate the actualization of the project.

He added that with genuine commitment to the rehabilitation of all abattoirs across the state, the government is ready for the full implementation of the project to people’s advantage.
