Zaria Hotel’ll Be Transformed Into Hostels, Classrooms For NCAT’s students —Keyamo

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo, has said the former Zaria Hotel acquired by the Nigeria College of Aviation Technology, NCAT, in Zaria, Kaduna State, will be transformed into additional hostels and classrooms for NCAT’s students.

Keyamo spoke during his inaugural visit to NCAT, noting that it would enhance the students’ learning environment and accommodation options.

Tunde Moshood, Special Assistant on Media and Communications to Keyamo, in a statement, said the Minister’s tour provided him with an overview of the cutting-edge training resources available to NCAT’s students.

The statement reads: “Keyamo conducted his inaugural visit to NCAT, one of the key agencies under his supervision. This historic visit underscores the Minister’s commitment to enhancing the nation’s aviation training infrastructure and aligns with the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

“During the visit, the Minister embarked on an extensive tour of NCAT’s state-of-the-art facilities. His itinerary included the Fire-fighting Simulator, various aircraft simulation centres, the aircraft maintenance workshops, and the new Auditorium at the airport emergency training school. The Minister’s tour provided him with a comprehensive overview of the cutting-edge training resources available to NCAT’s students.

“A significant highlight of the visit was Minister Keyamo’s inspection of the former Zaria Hotel, recently acquired by NCAT. The Minister expressed his excitement about the potential of the facility, noting that it will be repurposed into additional hostels and classrooms. This development is expected to significantly benefit the students by enhancing their learning environment and accommodation options.

“Throughout his visit, the Minister engaged with the management, staff, and students of NCAT. He conveyed President Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ message, emphasizing the administration’s dedication to advancing Nigeria’s aviation sector and ensuring that institutions like NCAT continue to produce highly skilled professionals.

“The Minister praised the efforts of NCAT’s leadership, most especially the Rector, Joseph Imalighwe in maintaining high standards of training and expressed his optimism about the future of aviation education in Nigeria. He reiterated the government’s support for NCAT and its mission to remain a center of excellence in aviation training.

“The Minister’s visit marks a significant step in fostering closer collaboration between the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development and NCAT. It also highlights the government’s ongoing commitment to investing in and upgrading aviation training facilities to meet international standards.”
