What Buhari govt must do – Peter Obi reacts to Benue killing, Zamfara kidnap

The Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi on Sunday condemned the killing of Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, in Benue State and the abduction of some residents in Wanzamai village in Zamfara State.

Obi urged the government to take extraordinary measures to address the menace. He lamented that such actions were negatively impacting Nigeria.

Recently, several people were killed in the Umogidi community, Entekpa-Adoka, in the Otukpo Local Government Area of the state. Reacting, Obi expressed his condolences to the families of those killed.

Tweeting, Obi wrote: “I am deeply saddened by reports of the visceral violence and gruesome killing of the internally displaced people (IDPs) in Benue state and other parts of Benue, and the kidnapping of dozens of people in Wanzamai village in Zamfara.

“Such bloodletting is unconscionable, and stands condemned. Government and all stakeholders must take extraordinary measures to address this menace that is impacting negatively on our existence as a nation.”
