The Donald Trump campaign on Sunday disclosed that gun shots were fired at the vicinity of the former president and presidential candidate of the Republican.
Despite the shots fired, Trump’s campaign said the former president is safe.
The shots were fired in Trump’s vicinity on his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.
However, a statement by the campaign spokesperson, Steven Cheung said, “President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time.”
Also, the United States, US, Secret Service said the investigation into the incident was ongoing.
“The Secret Service, in conjunction with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, is investigating a protective incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred shortly before 2 p.m. The former president is safe,” the Secret Service said in a statement.
This is coming a few months after a 20-year-old had attempted to assassinate Trump in Pennsylvania during his campaign.
Thomas Mathew Cook fired several shots at Trump but failed to take down the former president.
