  1. The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ibrahim Abdullahi, has alleged that President Bola Tinubu submitted conflicting documents to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), according to records from Chicago State University (CSU). Abdullahi suggested that these documents would be presented before the Supreme Court.
  2. Controversial singer Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, was taken into custody by the police on Tuesday night in connection with the controversial death of his former record label signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad. The Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this in a tweet.
  3. Furious youths set fire to facilities at the Isolo Local Council Development Area office building in Okota, Lagos, on Tuesday. This act followed the deaths of two individuals, yet to be identified, who reportedly died after a scuffle involving officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority and a driver in the Ago Palace area of Isolo, Lagos.
  4. Pastor Ezekiel Ahmed, the pastor of a branch of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre located in Mission Ward North Bank, Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, tragically lost his life on Tuesday when the church building collapsed on him and some worshippers. Four other individuals in the church at the time of the incident sustained injuries.
  5. The Senate amended its rules on Tuesday to prevent first-time senators from running for the positions of Senate President and Deputy Senate President. The amendment, which focused on Section 3, Sub-section 2 and 3 of the Senate Standing Orders, followed a motion presented by Senate leader Opeyemi Bamidele.
  6. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command issued a warning to residents on Tuesday, advising them to be cautious when boarding unpainted taxis, known as ‘kabu-kabu,’ to avoid falling victim to armed robbers, often referred to as ‘One Chance’ operators. FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna Garba, delivered the warning during a news briefing.
  7. Chicago State University’s (CSU) Registrar, Caleb Westberg, affirmed on Tuesday that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who attended Southwest College, is the same individual who graduated from CSU in 1979. He further clarified that Tinubu is male and currently serves as the President of Nigeria.
  8. The Federal Government urged the governors of the 19 states with confirmed diphtheria cases to reintroduce the use of face masks at public gatherings. This call came as the number of confirmed cases surged to 8,406, with incidents recorded in 114 Local Government Areas (LGAs) across 18 states and Abuja.
  9. The Senate Committee on Gas, led by Senator Jarigbe Jarigbe, urged President Bola Tinubu to promptly present a 2023 Supplementary Budget to the National Assembly to initiate his Compressed Natural Gas project. This request was made just 48 hours after Tinubu announced measures to mitigate the impact of fuel subsidy removal on Nigerians.
  10. Tragedy struck on Monday as at least 22 passengers drowned in a boat accident in Niger State. The victims were en route from Kasabu village in Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State to Yauri in Kebbi State when the boat capsized due to heavy rain and strong winds.
