  1. The Federal Government has sought a fresh loan of $400 million from the World Bank for a conditional cash transfer program aimed at assisting 15 million households. This initiative is intended to mitigate the impact of petrol subsidy removal on Nigerians. With this additional funding, the total loan amount from the World Bank for the cash transfer program will reach $1.2 billion, as the government had previously secured an $800 million loan for the same purpose.
  2. The National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Obiora Ifoh, has expressed confidence that the defection of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who represents Anambra South, to the All Progressives Congress, does not pose a threat to the party. Ifoh remains optimistic that the LP candidate, Senator Athan Achonu, will prevail against Governor Hope Uzodimma in the upcoming November 11 governorship election in Imo State.
  3. Troops participating in Exercise Enduring Peace III have successfully rescued seven kidnapped victims in Ogumula village in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State. This achievement comes shortly after youths in Ohimini LGA staged a protest by blocking the Otukpo-Adoka-Owerto federal highway to address the growing issue of kidnapping along the route.
  4. The Ogun State Police Command has discovered the bodies of three young men in an abandoned building at Abibatun Toronbi Community, Ijoko-Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state. The victims are believed to have been killed by rival cultists, and this discovery follows a recent spate of cult-related violence in Sagamu, where at least eight lives were lost.

  10. The 1 Division Nigerian Army has reported the rescue of six kidnapped victims and the neutralization of one bandit in Kaduna State. The operation took place on Friday and was confirmed by the acting Deputy Director of the Army Public Relations, Lt.-Col. Musa Yahaya.
