  1. President Bola Tinubu appointed Dr. Olayemi Cardoso as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, replacing Folashodun Shonubi, who was serving in an acting capacity. This move followed the suspension of Godwin Emefiele. The President also nominated four deputy governors to the apex bank, as announced by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity.
  2. Abdul-Samad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Group, announced the company’s plans to reduce cement prices in Nigeria. He made this announcement after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu.
  3. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State removed the Commissioner who had threatened judges presiding over the governorship elections petition tribunal. The Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Adamu Kibiya, was seen in a viral video making threats to the judges during their judgment.

  9. The Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra Sector Command, reported a tragic incident where a container fell on a commercial bus at Odumodu junction, Nteje-Awka, Anambra State, resulting in the loss of five lives.
  10. The Nigerian Army, through Operation Hadarin Daji, successfully rescued 17 kidnap victims and recovered rustled cattle. They also prevented a kidnapping attempt and rescued two victims, along with a vehicle carrying food items in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
